Uniejewski Challenges Feigenholtz to Public Debate, Pledges to Hold Forum Regardless
After receiving no response to a formal debate invitation, Nick Uniejewski is publicly challenging Sen. Sara Feigenholtz to face voters directly.
With Election Day just three weeks away, State Senate candidate Nick Uniejewski today announced that his campaign has formally invited State Senator Sara Feigenholtz to participate in an in-person public debate—and will move forward with a public forum if she declines or fails to respond.
“This is the first contested Democratic primary in our district since 1972,” Uniejewski said. “In a moment like this, voters deserve transparency, accountability, and a real debate about the future of our district.”
The Uniejewski campaign extended a formal invitation to Sen. Feigenholtz over the weekend and is requesting confirmation by Thursday, February 26 at 5:00 PM. Her campaign responded but declined to confirm a date, citing scheduling constraints.
Uniejewski’s campaign has spent the past year building power from the ground up—hosting more than 250 neighborhood salons, knocking on over 70,000 doors, and running a people-powered campaign funded entirely by grassroots donors, not corporate interests.
The campaign has proposed the following dates for a public debate and is open to any neutral third-party host, including civic organizations or media outlets:
Monday, March 2
Saturday, March 7
Sunday, March 8
Monday, March 9
“If my opponent declines,” Uniejewski added, “we will still hold a public forum. I’m ready to debate anytime, anywhere in the district.”
Community groups or media outlets interested in hosting are encouraged to contact the campaign.
The Democratic Primary is March 17.
