The Chicago 312 has published a feature that captures the heart of our unconventional, grassroots campaign to unseat the longtime incumbent in Illinois’ 6th District.

The article, “Nick Uniejewski Is Running a State Senate Campaign Like It’s a Dinner Party—and It’s Working,” details how we are changing the playbook for how to run a modern campaign. From living room conversations on reproductive rights and dive bar discussions about health care, Nick is building a movement rooted in community, accessibility, and shared values.

“Everywhere I went, people told me the same thing: our state senator is absent. The issues are urgent—housing, climate, transit—but the leadership isn’t showing up. So I looked around and said: okay, let’s do something different,” said Uniejewski in the piece.

As The Chicago 312 notes, Nick’s salons start with listening, and they’re gaining momentum among residents hungry for a new kind of leadership—one that prioritizes housing, transit, and most importantly, results.

This campaign is about building a future where people feel seen, heard, and empowered to shape the decisions that impact their everyday. It’s about doing politics differently: with intention, openness, and having a little fun along the way.

The 6th District deserves a senator who shows up, fights hard, and delivers for the communities we call home.
