The Chicago Tribune Editorial Board has Endorsed Nick Uniejewski

This morning, the Chicago Tribune endorsed our campaign for State Senate.

This is enormous.

The Tribune recognized exactly what this campaign is about: confronting the affordability crisis and bringing urgency and new leadership to Springfield.

They wrote that Nick “clearly understand that one of the biggest issues in Chicago is housing,” highlighting our plans to legalize coach houses to increase supply and lower costs, and to challenge “Illinois’ outdated construction and building codes, which unnecessarily drive up costs and limit what can be built.”

They praised our “sense of urgency” and willingness to challenge the status quo, calling it “much needed in Springfield.”

And they recognized something core to our campaign’s vision—calling Nick an “abundance progressive” who understands that solving our affordability crisis means building more housing, growing our economy, and making government work better for everyday people.

Most importantly, they concluded with this:

“Affordability is the issue of this political moment, and achieving it here in Illinois will require a new approach… Uniejewski is endorsed.”

This endorsement sends a clear message: our campaign is breaking through.

Voters are ready for new leadership focused on lowering costs, building more housing, and delivering real results—not preserving politics as usual.
